Licensed Hairstylists
Are you a licensed hairstylist wishing to work in an upscale salon spa environment? Larkspur Salon Spa is currently looking to hire more stylists.
We offer a full range of salon and spa services utilizing exclusive Aveda products to nurture and rejuvenate each client’s body and image. Our services include coloring, cut and style, blow-outs, special event and bridal hairstyling, full body waxing, facials, massage, body scrubs, and fully hand-hygienic manicures and pedicures. We have 7 styling stations, one of which may be transformed into a large private “room” via the use of a heavy, opaque sliding curtain (used for guests undergoing chemo, religious beliefs that require covering of the hair in public, or any guest requesting more privacy during styling; it may be utilized by any of our stylists). We have 3 washing stations. Each styling station features a unique hair dryer that retracts to hang from the ceiling when not in use and a central vac system so that hair may be simply swept into a vent in the wall (allowing for easy clean-up after each client). The Job
We are looking to add licensed hair stylists to our team. This position is commission-based plus tips. Prices charged per service vary according to the degree of education of the stylist. Ideal candidates should be proficient in hair cutting, coloring, and styling technique for guests of all ages and hair types. Knowledge of AVEDA products is preferred, as we only utilize AVEDA color, shampoo/conditioner, and styling products. Our staff functions as a team; any stylist considered for this position must be willing to self-promote and promote the salon spa as well. Having an existing clientele would be a plus, but is certainly not required if you are willing to work hard to attract and retain new clients. As an AVEDA Concept salon spa, our guests have high expectations for their stylist; you must be professional in dress and manner and possess excellent communication skills. We pride ourselves on exceeding each guest’s expectations, and as such have an extremely high client retention rate.

Our stylists, nail tech, aesthetician, and massage therapist love to trade services! We believe in cross-promotion between the salon and spa (e.g., if a guest comes in for a facial or a massage, we would recommend adding a blowout or cut/color service to complete their salon spa experience), so there is constant opportunity to increase clientele. Since we are a new and growing business, we are happy to help you advertise any specials or promotions you wish to offer (via our website, social media, referral cards, etc) at no cost to you. We love to feature our stylists’ portfolio photographs on our website and on social media, which allows you to showcase your unique talents as a stylist and attract clients wishing to obtain a look you excel in creating (e.g., if you are great at bridal updos and a client sees your work on our site, they are more likely to ask for you to style their hair for their wedding).

Front Desk Coordinator
The Job
Our Front Desk Coordinators are the face of the salon; they are the first people to greet each client upon arrival and the last to see them before they leave. This position is incredibly vital to Larkspur’s day-to-day functions. Front Desk Coordinators are responsible for opening and closing the salon each day, answering phones, checking messages and returning calls, scheduling appointments for the stylists and spa service providers, ensuring each client is satisfied with his or her service before they leave, making daily updates to social media to reflect Larkspur’s ever-changing promotions and specials, and assisting with cleaning. Any individual wishing to apply for this position must be highly motivated and invested in the continued growth of our fledgling business. The ideal candidate should be outgoing, friendly, well-spoken, and highly professional. This is an excellent job opportunity for anyone wishing to see the inner workings of a new business; if you’ve ever considered owning or operating your own business, working as a Front Desk Coordinator at Larkspur will give you a great idea of the complexities and amount of work involved in getting a new business off the ground (invaluable experience for students–or anyone interested in small business ownership/management).
